Responsibilities
Summary
Under general supervision, the Account Analyst, Accounting and Reporting is responsible for the overall accuracy and timeliness of maintaining General Ledger (GL) accounts including reconciliation of accounts while meeting stringent deadlines. This position also assists with the management of the Company's internal and external reporting requirements including the preparation and ownership of many schedules that support the Company's filings.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- The Account Analyst, Accounting and Reporting adheres to company policies and procedures established for accounting.
- Reconciles and rolls assigned balance sheet accounts on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- The Account Analyst, Accounting and Reporting prepares audit schedules for quarterly and annual audits.
- Works with facility and regional business managers and accountants to review and reconcile results of expense allocations.
- The Account Analyst, Accounting and Reporting analyses financial results related to assigned operating units.
- Reconciles & posts monthly P&L results for Canada and related transactions.
- The Account Analyst, Accounting and Reporting analyzes monthly budgets and forecasts compared to actual results. Researches and provides explanation for variances.
- Analyzes actual Overhead results in comparison to budget and forecast and provides explanations for variances.
- The Account Analyst, Accounting and Reporting posts Infinium journal entries for the corporate, payroll and tax departments, payroll and RNI entries.
- Works with Payroll, AP and AR on clearing suspense accounts.
- Compiles, summarizes, and provides necessary reports and schedules needed for internal and external reporting such as flash reporting, 1 OK, 1 OQ and Supplemental Schedules.
- Follows company policies and adheres to Sarbanes Oxley guidelines.
- Completes government census surveys.
- Assists with the XBRL reporting requirements quarterly.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business administration.
- Four (4) years progressive experience in an accounting related capacity with demonstrated exposure working with standard concepts, practices and procedures applied in an analysis capacity is preferred.
- Successful completion of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) status preferred.
- Relies on experience and expertise to plan work accordingly and to accomplish the position's goals and objectives.
- Good analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve the typical questions and issues that arise as a result of completing daily work activities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interact with Business Managers in the field to resolve questions and problems.
- Ability to produce reports in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to work with computers and the necessary software used by the department typically including the Financial Information System (FIS) and spreadsheets.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills.
- Hyperion Essbase/Smart View knowledge a plus.
