BCBS of Minnesota is hiring a Director of Enterprise Resilience in Eagan, MN. The Director of Enterprise Resilience is responsible for leading the overall Enterprise Resilience Program and the program specific frameworks for business continuity, disaster recovery and crisis management. The Director of Enterprise Resilience will ensure that the company has the capability to anticipate, prepare for, respond to, and adapt to internal or external disruptions that impact company operations, customers, or stakeholders.

This position will be responsible for partnering directly with lines of business and leadership teams (Communications, Government Markets, Commercial Markets, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Security, Audit, Risk management, Blue Cross Blue Shield Association) to implement and maintain a comprehensive business continuity, disaster recovery and crisis management program.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of proven IT experience in enterprise resilience, business continuity, disaster recovery, and/or crisis management. Proven experience in business continuity is strongly desired. Candidate will have at least 3 years of prior leadership experience, strong executive presence and business acumen.

This role is hybrid out of Eagan, MN and is required to be in office at least 2 days per week.

A Day in the Life:

  • Develop and maintain the Enterprise Resilience strategy, policy, standards, and governance for Business Recovery, Disaster Recovery, and Crisis Management with key BCBSM affiliates.

  • Oversee the implementation and execution of the Enterprise Resilience Program across the company, including the identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring of resilience risks.

  • Coordinate and facilitate the business impact analysis, business continuity planning, disaster recovery planning, and crisis management planning processes.

  • Provide guidance and support to business units and functions on resilience-related matters, such as contingency planning, incident response, and recovery strategies.

  • Establish and maintain the Enterprise Resilience testing and exercising program and ensure the validation and improvement of resilience capabilities.

  • Manage the Enterprise Resilience reporting and communication activities and ensure the timely and accurate reporting of resilience status, issues, and metrics to senior management and relevant stakeholders.

  • Lead and manage the Enterprise Resilience team and foster a culture of resilience awareness and accountability across the company.

  • Design business recovery, disaster recovery and crisis management programs based on best practices, mandates, and guidance from leadership and the Business Resilience Steering Committee.

  • Design, execute and report the enterprise annual Business Impact Analysis.

  • Leads recovery efforts for business resumption during an actual business disruption.

  • Aligns program objectives with the overall BCBSMN or affiliate business direction and IT strategies.

  • Develops budget, annual planning, and program metrics for initiatives supporting the Business Resilience program.

Basic Qualifications and Skills

  • Accepting this director level position at BCBSMN requires signing an Employee Confidentiality, Intellectual Property Assignment and Restrictive Covenants Agreement as a condition of employment.

  • 7+ years of related professional IT experience, with 3+ years of management experience. All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered.

  • Experience in enterprise resilience, business continuity, disaster recovery, and/or crisis management, preferably in a midsize to large organization.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of resilience best practices, standards, and frameworks, such as ISO 22301, ISO 27031, or NIST SP 800-34.

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of healthcare business in several key areas: HIPAA, CMS regulations, Data Protection, etc. Preference in Payer space.

  • Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior executives and cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and persuasively to various audiences and stakeholders.

  • Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or higher

  • Amazon AWS Cloud Practitioner or higher

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience indeveloping and implementing business continuity plans. With a strong knowledge ofbusiness continuity frameworks, standards, and best practices.

  • Strong strategic thinkingand planning abilities, with the capacity to develop and implement long-term business strategies.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the proficiency to engage and influence C-level executives and stakeholders.

  • Experience working within Product-led organization.
